Canon LBP 2900 toner refill tutorial (Easy Method: Video included)

Canon LBP 2900 is a great home/office printer. The only downfall is when we have to refill it. Unlike other easy refill cartridge it needs to be disassembled. In this tutorial we show you how to do it without completely disassembling it (minimal dissembling).
These are the things we will be needing during the process.
Compulsory Items
  1. A cartridge to be refilled (The cartridge that has run out of toner)
  2. Dust or Toner Refill Powder
  3. Screw Driver
  4. Few A4 Papers
Optional Items (These items will make your work easier. If you follow along our video tutorial you will see us using all these items.)
  • Needle or Pin
  • Gloves (so your hands don’t get dirty)
  • A Mask (so you won’t be inhaling dust vapors)
  • A box or collector (to put screws and disassembled parts)

Step1:
Unscrew all the nails from both ends of the cartridge you are going to refill. 3 on one side (Side A) and 1 on another side (Side B). Remove the side plate from Side A from which you took off 3 nails. Side B plate is irremovable.
Step2:
Now slide the door of the Cartridge so you can see a spring near the end of Side B. Remove the spring with the help of a pin or needle.
Note: If you are not able to follow along the Steps you can watch the video.
Step3:
Take off the OPC drum. It is the Green/Blue rod you see when you slide the cartridge door. The OPC drum makes print on your paper, so keep it safely.
Step4:
Take off the magnetic roller with the help of screw driver by gently pushing it towards the part that has spring. Use a needle to push out if necessary.
Step5:
Now take off all the toner through the doors by shaking and patting the cartridge.
Step 6:
Lock the slide door of the cartridge with the help of a needle. Put an A4 paper over the cartridge so you can slide the dust inside the cartridge easily. Shake the new toner refill, open it and pour all of it inside the cartridge.
Step 7:
After putting all the dust inside put back the Magnetic Roller, OPC drum and the spring respectively. Now put back the side plate and screw on both sides.
Great!!! Now you are ready to use the cartridge :).
